Sonal has a brilliant process improvement mind-set and delivers simplification and improvement at every opportunity. In 2019, Sonal stepped up to cover the Global Mobility Lead vacancy for 4 months whilst continuing to deliver in her own projects and process role. In 2020, Sonal delivered a great performance in an even more challenging year stepping out of her comfort zone e.g. Sonal’s contributions to our combined tax, immigration and pre-travel solution RFP laid the foundations for a great process and a fab outcome for Tesco, Sonal applied learnings from this in our successful Technology RFP. In 2021 Sonal has worked through a fast-paced Private Medical market review and change of provider, advocating for protecting the cover provided to our colleagues whilst delivering cost savings for Tesco. These deliverables were achieved against the backdrop of a global pandemic, home schooling two children, huge change in the team, and taking on new responsibilities herself. During these challenging times Sonal has demonstrated great resilience. Sonal embraced a new role, expanding her responsibilities to include accountability for assignments into Europe and Asia and line management of two mobility specialists. At the same time playing an integral part in transitioning work from Asia to UK, welcoming a number of new colleagues to the team, upskilling them, passing on technical skills she’s learnt and helping them to find their feet. Sonal also actively shares knowledge and updates on our Global community calls. Sonal keeps colleague’s feelings and their challenges at the heart of everything she does and applies these same values as a line manager and leader in our team. Tesco’s 360 feedback process marked her as a role model for each of Tesco’s leadership behaviours.
