Having spent 15 years as an Employment Lawyer, I moved into the Global Mobility world in 2021 starting in a strategy and transformation role before being appointed as BAE Systems’ Head of Global and Domestic Mobility Services in 2022.
Being new to the industry, I have been able to explore the current ways of working alongside challenging my team and my suppliers to revisit the status quo. Looking at the mobility function, it is clear to see that it is often put into the ‘too hard’ bucket which can impact our collective aspirations for the service.
I am intent on continuing to challenge this mind-set. Mobility is complex, but nothing is ‘too hard’. It just needs breaking down, analysing logically and building back up. We have an ambitious transformation journey ahead of us within BAE Systems but as a team we are looking forward to the challenge and the rewards we can deliver for our employees and their families at the end of it.
Trained with KPMG in London before moving to Geneva, Frankfurt & Düsseldorf including stints at PwC & Deloitte. Then came the opportunity to switch sides with a move to Basel in the mobility teams of Roche and then Novartis before moving to Bayer in Leverkusen in Germany again.
Approximately 10 years were spent in the in-house mobility teams taking on ever increasing responsibilities and overseeing projects from vendor RfP’s to policy relaunches, major M&A projects and contributing to wider Total Reward initiatives.
This has been followed by broader HR leadership roles from leading the country HR teams in Europe, then EMEA, to being a large country group HR Head and part of the wider country leadership team and most recently being a global business partner to a large global function. Throughout this time deeply involved in major transformations and one of the largest German acquisitions of a US listed company.
While I love making a broader contribution I have stayed close to mobility and have been a sounding board to the internal team but also to external providers and partners and have remained on the judging panel since the very first EMMA’s.
