Mark Derksen is currently based in Mexico City, where he serves as Head of Global Mobility and Internationally Recruited Staff at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). In this role, Mark leads the strategic transformation of their Global Mobility function, evolving it from an operational focus to a strategic enabler.

Prior to this assignment, Mark was Global Director of Talent and Mobility at Bupa, working remotely from Barcelona, where he shaped global mobility and talent strategies across the healthcare group’s international footprint.

Mark began his career in 2000 as an expatriate tax advisor for international clients with PwC, before transitioning into in-house mobility leadership roles. He served as Global Mobility Manager for Deloitte in the Netherlands, and later spent three years in South Africa as Global Mobility Leader for Unilever.

In 2015, he joined Arup in London as Head of International Mobility, and subsequently returned to Amsterdam, where he held senior mobility roles with Booking.com, Uber, and Getir.

Mark holds an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology and is a certified Global Mobility Strategic Talent (GMS-T) specialist through Worldwide ERC.
